Line Gap is a sports betting analytics platform that helps bettors find +EV opportunities by understanding how lines move — not just where they sit right now. Most odds tools give you a snapshot. Line Gap gives you the story: where the line opened, how it has moved, which books moved first, and (when applicable) why.

What makes Line Gap different

Line Movement Intelligence

Opening lines, timeline charts, and multi-book overlays — see exactly how a prop has moved over time.

Sharp Money Detection

Visual badges flag when 3+ books move the same direction in a polling window, or when steam is hitting hard.

Cross-Book Opportunities

True arbitrage, middling windows, and meaningful line discrepancies surface inline as you browse.

AI Movement Explanations

One click on any prop returns a 1-2 sentence summary of how the line has moved, grounded in our actual data.

What you get

  • +EV scanner across NBA, NFL, NHL, UFC, NCAAB, NCAAF
  • Line movement charts with opening line attribution and per-book timelines
  • Sharp signal badges (sync / steam) on prop rows when meaningful movement is detected
  • Cross-book badges (arb / middle / line discrepancy) inline on the same rows
  • AI explanations of line movement on demand
  • Bet tracker with bankroll management and closing line value (CLV) dashboard
  • Research Lab for player trends, defense vs. position, correlation analysis
  • Discord bot for automated pick posting
  • Player data and injury context from ESPN

How the data flows

Line Gap polls The Odds API every 30 minutes for line snapshots, plus a targeted closing-line capture in the 0–20 min tipoff window for events you (or other Discord-tracked picks) care about. Every snapshot is stored, so the line movement history compounds over time. Player stats and injury data come from ESPN.

Where things stand

Line Gap is a small project, run by a small team. Some things to know:
  • Pre-game only. Live/in-game odds aren’t supported — they require a different (and much more expensive) data tier than we run on.
  • 30-min polling cadence. Not sub-second. Sharp signals reflect movement across polling windows, not within them.
  • Mobile is functional but not polished. Web-first today; dedicated mobile work is on the roadmap.
  • Built-in budget caps. Closing-line capture and AI explanations both have daily token/credit caps to prevent runaway spend during testing or signal floods.
If a feature isn’t here yet, check the page’s “Coming soon” notes — most planned work is publicly tracked.
